Easter

The Prodigal

The Prodigal

You held out Your arms, I walked away
Insolent I spurned Your face
Squandering the gifts You gave to me
Holding close forbidden things
Destitute a rebel still, a fool in all my pride
The world I once enjoyed is death to me
No joy, no hope, no life

Where now are the friends, that I had bought
Gone with every penny lost
What hope could there be for such as I
Sold out to a world of lies
Oh, to see Your face again, it seems so distant now
Could it be that You would take me back
A servant in Your house

You held out Your arms, I see them still
You never left, You never will
Running to embrace me, now I know
Your cords of love will always hold
Mercy’s robe, a ring of grace
Such favor undeserved
You sing over me and celebrate
The rebel now Your child

Safe

Jesus said,

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:28-30

Long overdue

So, I think it's been like 12 years since I've posted any new pictures! Here are some photos from Christmas, Abigail's 2nd birthday, and just everyday life.

Fun Times in Cali

Just looking through some old pictures from our camping trip to Yosemite three years ago. Oh, to go on a trip like this again...

Travis taking a dip at Waterwheel Falls

Sam and Bethany

Trav and I

Both boys jumped from the cliff (in the upper right hand corner of this pic, but you can't really see the top of it) into the pool of water below several times!!! I was sure I would leave California a widow!

We beat the guys almost every night!

Sam started this fire with his own bare hands!

And no, this last picture was obviously not taken while camping...

Volition

This is a short, but very powerful video. If you have 15 minutes, you should watch it! (You might not need this tidbit, but I like to know what is going on right away...this is three stories in one with the same main guy....you're probably quicker than me though!)

Volition (n)- The act of making a choice.
Sometimes the choice of inaction has consequences stronger than we could ever imagine. Throughout history, men and women have been faced with difficult choices in a world that makes it easy for them to conform. This film explores the hope that lies behind every decision made in the face of adversity; the hope that is buried in the heart of those that look beyond themselves and see something bigger worth fighting for.

Family Fun

Aunt Marj came to visit last weekend from the UP. It was great to see her and the rest of the family! Her visit was too short!

Two of my favorite people - David and Bethany!
